Services we offer
Preventive care
Regular cleanings and checkups keep small problems from becoming big ones.
Dental cleaning
Professional teeth cleaning is essential, not just for healthy teeth, but also a healthy mind and body. It is an important step in preventing serious health issues such as cavities and gum disease, and research shows oral hygiene is correlated to heart disease and dementia.
Our hygienists are known for a thorough and caring job removing plaque and cleaning between each tooth, and they share practical tips for keeping your teeth healthy between visits. We explain every step as it happens, so there are no surprises.
How long does a cleaning take?
A typical adult cleaning is about one hour. Children usually take 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of teeth present.
What if my teeth are sensitive?
Let your hygienist know right away. A numbing gel can be applied, and there are different techniques and tools we can use to keep you comfortable.
How often should I have a cleaning?
It depends on your oral health. Some people build up plaque and tartar faster than others. Dr. Huang and your hygienist will recommend a schedule that suits you.
Will my insurance cover it?
Your insurance breakdown and coverage are confirmed by our administrative team before treatment begins, so there are never any surprises at checkout.
Restorative care
Treatments that repair damaged or decayed teeth and relieve pain.
Fillings
Occasionally we get cavities and a filling is used to restore the tooth. The tooth is cleaned out and the cavity is filled, preventing further decay.
Filling material has advanced and a silver filling is no longer the only option. The filling color can match your teeth, so it will be unnoticeable and natural looking.
When can I eat after a filling?
It is generally recommended to wait until the anesthesia wears off completely before eating to avoid accidentally biting your cheek or tongue. Once the numbness subsides, you can resume your normal eating habits.
How much does a filling cost?
The cost varies based on the particular tooth, the number of surfaces involved, and the materials used. Dr. Huang will conduct a thorough examination along with a radiograph in order to recommend treatment options and associated cost for you.
Root canal therapy
A common reason we develop pain in our teeth is due to inflammation or infection in the root of a tooth. When this happens root canal therapy is a simple procedure that will relieve the pain.
During this procedure the dentist will remove the inflamed or infected pulp, clean the inside of the root and fill the space. After the treatment is done you should be pain free and your tooth is saved from further decay.
Is root canal therapy painful?
Contrary to popular belief, root canal therapy is not as painful as its reputation suggests. With modern techniques and anesthesia, most patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure.
Crowns
One way to restore a tooth after it has been damaged is by placing a strong cap over the tooth, also called a crown. The crown is made after taking an impression of your mouth and will be created to look like your natural tooth.
We offer porcelain crowns for a natural appearance, metal crowns for durability, and porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns that balance both.
How long do crowns last?
Dental crowns are intended to be long-lasting but may require replacement over time due to fractures of material or cavities under the margin of the crown. With proper care and maintenance, crowns can usually last ten years or more.
Does getting a crown hurt?
The process is typically painless as it is performed under local anesthesia. Some patients may experience mild discomfort or sensitivity after the procedure, which should be minor and short-lived.
How many appointments will I need?
Usually two. During the first visit, the tooth is prepared, impressions are taken, and a temporary crown is placed. The final crown is made in a dental laboratory, which may take a week or two. At the second visit, the permanent crown is cemented into place.
Tooth extractions
The removal of teeth can be a daunting procedure for most people. However, with the advances of modern technology and techniques the process can be more comfortable than you think.
Extraction is typically done for a badly decayed or infected tooth, an impacted wisdom tooth, or to make room for orthodontics.
Will an extraction hurt?
Before the extraction, Dr. Huang will conduct a thorough examination, often including X-rays, to determine the most appropriate technique. Local anesthesia is administered to numb the area so you stay comfortable during the procedure.
Tooth replacement
Options for replacing one missing tooth or many.
Implants
Dental implants have revolutionized the field of dentistry, offering a long-lasting solution for replacing missing teeth and restoring smiles.
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of biocompatible materials like titanium that are surgically implanted into the jawbone. They provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable replacement teeth, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures. Implants look, feel, and function like natural teeth.
Am I a candidate for dental implants?
While dental implants are a highly effective tooth replacement option, not everyone is a candidate for the procedure. Good candidates should have healthy gums, adequate bone density in the jawbone, and be in overall good health.
Bridges
When you have a missing tooth, one way to fill the gap is to use the existing teeth on either side of the gap to “bridge” it. The neighbouring teeth are prepared to hold crowns, and a replacement tooth is attached between them.
A bridge restores your ability to chew and speak comfortably, keeps the surrounding teeth from shifting, and is custom-matched to the colour of your natural teeth.
Bridge or implant: which is better?
Both replace a missing tooth. An implant does not rely on the neighbouring teeth, while a bridge can be completed without surgery. Dr. Huang will recommend the right option based on your gums, bone and the health of the nearby teeth.
How do I care for a bridge?
Brush twice a day and clean under the replacement tooth with a floss threader or water flosser. Regular checkups and cleanings help your bridge last many years.
Dentures
For many different reasons we may need to replace our teeth using partial or full dentures. Dentures can be a great solution to allow us to continue enjoying food and our quality of life after losing our teeth.
What is the difference between complete and partial dentures?
Complete dentures replace all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw, or both, and are custom-made to fit the shape of your mouth. Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain, with replacement teeth attached to a base that matches the color of the gums.
Cosmetic dentistry
Improve the colour, shape and overall look of your smile.
Cosmetic dentistry
Our smile can greatly impact our first impressions, social interactions, and presence in photographs. Cosmetic dentistry improves the colour, shape, size and alignment of your teeth while keeping them healthy.
Treatment starts with a consultation. Dr. Huang will examine your teeth, listen to what you would like to change, and walk you through the options, from simple whitening and bonding to veneers and crowns.
Which cosmetic treatment is right for me?
It depends on your goals and the condition of your teeth. Whitening treats discolouration, bonding repairs small chips and gaps, and veneers or crowns can change the shape and colour of a tooth. We will recommend options at your consultation.
Is cosmetic dentistry covered by insurance?
Most plans cover treatment that restores function, and some cosmetic work may be partially covered. Our team will check your coverage before treatment begins. Payment plans are also available.
Teeth whitening
Teeth whitening is one of the most common cosmetic treatments requested at dental offices. Over time, coffee, tea, red wine, smoking and aging can stain the surface of the teeth.
Professional whitening is safer and more effective than store-bought products because it is supervised by your dentist. We check your teeth and gums first, then recommend the approach that suits you.
Does whitening cause sensitivity?
Some patients feel mild, temporary sensitivity during or after whitening. It usually passes within a few days, and we can adjust the treatment if needed.
Will whitening work on crowns or fillings?
No. Whitening only works on natural tooth enamel. If you have crowns, veneers or fillings in visible areas, we will discuss how to keep your smile an even shade.
How long do results last?
Results can last from several months to a few years, depending on your diet and habits. Regular cleanings and occasional touch-ups help maintain your shade.
Bonding & veneers
If you have a broken, cracked or chipped tooth, or simply want to change the appearance of a tooth, bonding or veneers can be used.
Bonding uses a tooth-coloured resin that is shaped and hardened directly on the tooth, usually in a single visit. Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover the front of the tooth for a longer-lasting change in shape and colour.
What is the difference between bonding and veneers?
Bonding is quicker and more affordable, and is ideal for small repairs. Veneers are made in a dental laboratory, resist staining better and last longer, making them suited to larger changes.
How long do they last?
Bonding typically lasts several years before it needs touching up. Veneers can last ten years or more with good care.

Do I need to bring any documents or records to my first appointment?

Will X-rays be taken during my new patient exam, and are they safe?

Dental x-rays are an important tool used to diagnose hidden cavities and gum disease that we may not be able to see during a routine clinical exam. All x-rays are only taken if necessary. Dr. Huang and the team will explain to you why certain x-rays may be required for your specific situation.
Will the dentist discuss my treatment options during the new patient exam?
Based on your exam and x-rays, Dr. Huang and the team will discuss your current situation and formulate a treatment plan that is specifically tailored for you. Depending on your goals and condition, different timelines can also be discussed.

What our patients say
Rated 5.0 on Google

I’ve worked in the dental field for years, and I still choose to come to this office — that should say a lot! Gloria, the hygienist, is amazing. She’s thorough, gentle, and takes the time to explain everything clearly.

Dr Huang and his staff are amazing! Been seeing him since he opened and have not once had a bad experience. I even brought my mother in law there when we were curious about her oral health and he was able to tell right away that she had an infection and required abx treatment.

I love this dental office! I have been a patient here for over 30 years, since I was a child, and each visit has been a very positive one. The hygienists are friendly, gentle, and thorough, and Mary at the front desk is the best, super efficient and I feel like we always have the best chats each time I’m there.
